Privacy Policy
Effective July 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MYDAY DIGITAL (PVT) LTD (“Our Day”, “we”, “us”) handles your information when you use the Our Day mobile application, the digital invitation pages served at invite.ourday.lk, and this website (together, the “Service”). We keep it in plain language, because you have a wedding to plan.
The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your data, we never show ads, and you can delete your account and all associated data at any time — inside the app or by emailing contact@ourday.lk.
Summary of data we collect
| Category | Examples | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Name, email address, profile photo | Creating and securing your account, showing you to your planning team |
| Wedding content | Couple names, wedding date, venue, cover photos, budgets, expenses, tasks, notes, vendor details | Providing the planning features you use |
| Guest information you add | Guest names, phone numbers, group/side, RSVP status, attendee counts | Managing your guest list, sending invitations, tracking RSVPs |
| Invitation pages | The content you choose to publish on your digital invitation (names, photos, date, venue, story) | Showing your invitation to guests who receive your link |
| Technical data | Device type, app version, error logs | Keeping the app reliable and fixing bugs |
We do not collect your precise location, contacts (unless you type a guest's details in yourself), payment card details, or any financial account information. Budget amounts you record are notes you keep — payments never flow through Our Day. We do not show third-party advertising and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service: sync your wedding plan across your devices and planning team, render your digital invitation, and record RSVPs.
- To secure accounts: authentication, fraud and abuse prevention.
- To support you: answering messages you send to contact@ourday.lk.
- To improve reliability: diagnosing crashes and errors.
- To meet legal obligations where they apply to us.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on: performance of a contract (running the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, reliability), and consent where required — which you may withdraw at any time.
When information is shared
- With your planning team. Members you invite to your wedding plan can see the plan's content — that is the point of the app. You control who is invited.
- With your guests. A digital invitation is visible to anyone who has its link. Share links only with people you want to see your invitation.
- With service providers. We use a small number of trusted cloud providers to host our database, authentication, file storage and server functions on our behalf. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your basic profile (name, email, photo) with us as part of the sign-in. These providers process data under strict security commitments; they are not permitted to use your data for their own advertising, and we can share the current list of providers on request.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and security of Our Day and its users.
We never sell personal data, and we never share it with advertisers.
If you are a wedding guest
A couple using Our Day may have added your name and phone number to manage their guest list and to send you a personal invitation link. That information is visible only to the couple and their planning team, and to us as the platform that stores it for them. If you would like your details corrected or removed, ask the couple directly, or email us at contact@ourday.lk and we will help.
Where data is stored & international transfers
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure operated by our hosting providers, which may be located outside your country. Wherever data is processed, we apply the safeguards described in this policy, and we require our providers to protect it with appropriate technical and contractual measures.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and protected at rest by our hosting provider. Access to production data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever discover a breach that affects you, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
How long we keep data
- Your account and wedding data are kept while your account is active.
- When you delete your account, your personal data and content are deleted from our production systems within 30 days, and from backups within 90 days.
- We may retain minimal records where the law requires it (for example, records of a deletion request).
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the EU/UK GDPR and similar laws elsewhere — you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate data;
- Delete your data (see below);
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Receive your data in a portable format;
- Complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@ourday.lk. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:
- In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account, then confirm; or
- By email: follow the steps on our account deletion page.
Children
Our Day is a wedding planning service intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that means you accept the updated policy.
